50th Anniversary of the VCPG

In 2007, VCPG celebrated its 50th anniversary !
We had a number of special events throughout the year.

 

An "Early" Kick-off even was held at:
The Bell Arts Factory and included a clay class for children, a reception with a silent auction, and a 2-day sale of member’s work on December 9th and 10th, 2006.




Two exhibitions of juried member’s work were held:
o Ojai Art Center - March 4th to 29th, 2007
o Studio Channel Islands Art Center - May 5th to June 30th, 2007




Three workshops were held:
o Archie Bray Potters - February 24th and 25th, 2007 At SBCC
o Gary Holt – April 14th and 15th, 2007 at Studio Channel Islands
o Patrick Horsley - September 22nd and 23rd, 2007 at Massarella Firehouse Pottery




Four sales were held:
o Ventura Art Walk in front of the Ventura Art/History Museum - April 28
o Ojai Music Festival - June 9-10
o Ventura Art Walk at the fountain by the Mission on Main Street. August 18
o 2nd Annual Sale at Bell Arts Factory - December 1 and 2




New Mexico Art and Culture Tour
was put together by Patrick Crabb and Diana Farrell and taken in June 2007.

We are pleased to have honored our history by recognizing our past presidents and lifetime members; creating a timeline of all we had accomplished in the last 50 years as an organization; and submitting articles about our anniversary and organization to several national ceramic magazines as well as local publications.
